What is a posting key in SAP FICO ?

 A posting key in SAP FICO is a two-digit numerical code used to classify transactions according to their debit/credit nature and account types.

It determines the entry type (debit or credit) and the account type (e.g. GL account, customer, vendor). Example 40 for Debit GL & 50 for credit GL.
