What is the purpose of document simulation in sAP FICO?

 Document simulation in SAP FICO is a functionality used to simulate the posting of financial documents without actually posting them to the system.

It allows users to preview the effects of document postings on account balances and financial statements..

So what is going to be debited ? and what is going to be credited? That will get verified at this level
