What is the purpose of SAP accruals and deferrals in financial accounting?

 SAP accruals and deferrals are sued to recognize revenues or expenses in financial statements in a period different from te one in which the corresponding economic activity occurred.

Accruals recognize revenue or expenses before they are posted, while deferrals delay their recognition until a later period
